A 17-year-old Ghanaian teenager known as Nathan Bawuah has been tabbed to death by another 17-year-old in Hackney in East London.
Nathan was found severely injured on Hackney Road near the junction with Cremer Street just before 23:00 GMT, the Metropolitan Police said.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, he could not be saved.
“My thoughts are with the family of the young person who has tragically lost his life,” Det Ch Supt James Conway said.
“I can assure them that we will be relentless in seeking to identify whoever was responsible for this murder,”
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old was arrested for stabbing Bawuah to death.
He was charged with murder and hauled before the Stratford Magistrates Court.
A police statement on Wednesday said “This (charge) relates to an incident in Hackney Road, E2 on Saturday, 17 February when 17-year-old Nathan Bawuah died after being stabbed.
“Nathan’s family has been informed and continue to receive support from specialist officers.”
This death stunningly comes after another Ghanaian, a father of four, was shot dead in Canada, also over the previous weekend.
