After days of waiting for a response from the GWR about her Sing-a-thon, Afua Asantewaa has finally gotten the feedback and unfortunately for her, it didn’t go in her favor.
Afua’s bold plan to shatter the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon was unsuccessful.
She did not complete the necessary amount of time, even with her heroic efforts that began at midnight on December 24, 2023, and continued until the early hours of December 29, 2023, and she was disqualified.
The Guinness World Records organization expressed their admiration for Afua’s determination and the inspiration she provided to her supporters throughout the marathon.
Although her attempt was not successful, they remain hopeful that she will undertake another endeavor in the future.
In a statement released by Guinness World Records, they mentioned that the evidence verification process had already commenced before Afua requested priority service.
Consequently, her payment was refunded earlier in the month. Nevertheless, they extended their best wishes to Afua for any future record attempts she may pursue.
Despite not achieving the desired outcome, Afua’s dedication and perseverance during the 115-hour singing marathon serve as a testament to her passion for music and her willingness to push the boundaries of what is possible.
Her journey continues to inspire others to pursue their dreams relentlessly, regardless of the outcome.
